faq

Does Ignite Studio offer classes?

Ignite Studios focus is on offering access to equipment and supplies so that patrons can take control of their own learning and onboard to their own creativity. For this reason, classes are not our primary focus. However, there are periodic opportunities to have a guided learning experience in Ignite either on Fab Lab equipment or with a Maker-in-Resident or special expert program. Stay tuned to our events calendars to discover these opportunities.

How can I access supplies in Ignite?

Ignite is currently limiting the availability of general supplies from our kit library. Some supplies/tools (think scissors, hot glue guns, cutting mats, etc.) are now available by request. Just ask an Ignite Staff member to help you access what you need. If you have a specific project in mind, we encourage you to seek out your own project-specific supplies and work in our space using our supplemental offerings.

Do I need to bring my own supplies to Ignite?

General supplies (think scissors, hot glue guns, cutting mats, etc.) are now available by request. Just ask an Ignite Staff member to help you access what you need. For example, a patron could make use of our sewing machines and notions (pins, tape measure, sheers, rotary cutters, irons, ironing boards) for a sewing project, but they would want to bring their own fabric and other notions specific to their project.

Do we have to have a library card to use Ignite?

You do not need a library card to access our kit library, digital media labs, fabrication lab, certification courses, open project areas, or maker-in-residence program. You do need a library card to access our A.V. Studio and our long-term storage options.

Are you open the same hours that the library is open?

Yes. Check out our hours here.

How can I or my child volunteer here?

When Ignite has specific volunteer needs, we will post them here.
