Ignite Studio Virtual Exhibit: Shades of Summer

By Katelyn Coyne

Ignite Studio is pleased to announce that the “Shades of Summer” exhibit will occur virtually on the Hamilton East Public Library Facebook page. This virtual exhibit begins on May 15th, with a special Facebook album.

Ignite Studio planned to display “Shades of Summer” in our physical space from May 1 to August 1, 2020. Unfortunately, due to Covid-19 and the closure of the library, we are unable to move forward with the physical exhibit at this time. However, we are thrilled to  continue to engage with local artists in a virtual version of the exhibit.

Several artists, who submitted work for the physical exhibit, opted to participate in our virtual exhibit. We will showcase the work of over a dozen local artists all centered on the theme, “Shades of Summer.”

Summertime evokes lazy days of shade. Warm colors and melting ice cream. Car trips and lush greenery. What do the shades of summer look like through the eyes of an artist? Find out as you take a digital stroll through this vibrant and colorful virtual exhibit.

Patrons can view the exhibit on HEPL’s Facebook page beginning on May 15th. Tune into our social media channels and share this vivid exhibit with us.

Lastly, Ignite Studio will also be hosting a Virtual Artist Reception for the exhibit on Thursday, May 21 at 6 pm. This interactive event allows patrons to “tour” the exhibit with insight from each of the artist contributors. View this summer-y art and hear directly from the local artists about their work. Visit HEPL’s event calendar to register! (Registration with email required to receive Zoom invitation information).

We look forward to celebrating the “Shades of Summer” with our Ignite Studio community!
