DEADLINE EXTENDED! Call for Art: All Together Now Exhibit

by Kris Hurst

Ignite Studio at the Hamilton East Public Library in Fishers has opened a call for art for our next exhibit, “All Together Now.” We are seeking original mixed media art that combines as least two mediums or materials.

Call for Art: “All Together Now”

In keeping with the theme of our summer reading program, “All Together Now,” we are seeking pieces that incorporate more than one medium. Mixed media art is an art form that doesn’t necessarily require drawing or other traditional artistic skills. It is for anyone interested in creating something using a variety of materials including found objects, magazines, books, photos, wood scraps, and the list goes on. Mixed media art spans multiple art movements:

Collage art: In the early twentieth century, collage artist Romare Bearden made mixed media collages.

Dadaism: Dada artists of the early 1900s often incorporated found objects into their art.

Contemporary digital art: Catherine Anderson inserted personal photographs along the path of this classical labyrinth design.

Collage, assemblage, decoupage, wet and dry media, altered books, digital art and found art are all acceptable. If you would like to submit your artwork for consideration, please follow the submission guidelines below.

Deadline to submit is Wednesday, Apr. 19, 2023.
